North Carolina's 'Triangle' region of Chapel Hill, Raleigh & Durham is the center of US women's college soccer due to its unrivaled success. The 2024 NCAA Women's Final 4 tournament featured 3 teams from North Carolina: Duke, Wake Forest, UNC Chapel Hill with UNC winning its 23rd NCAA title (out of 44 championships). Anson Dorrance, the most successful college coach in history has won 22 of these titles. The 2024 college player of the year plays for UNC & the 2024 NCAA coaching staff of the the year award went to UNC. The Triangle is also home to NWSL team Carolina Courage. Chapel Hill's big city amenities combined with small town charm is located 20 mins. from Raleigh-Durham Airport which is a 5hr flight from San Francisco, Vancouver & Los Angeles, 6.5hr direct flights to London, Paris, Frankfurt & Reykjavik and 1hr45 to Miami. 2 hours drive from Chapel HIll is the home of Nascar in Charlotte and Pinehurst Golf Club is over an hours drive. Based in Silicon Valley, California, Gary and Carine Ireland are among the most respected technical coaches in the US with a record of helping develop some of the best talents in the country. They are endorsed by many highly reputable soccer figures including FIFA and collaborated with and hosted (see list of people here) some of the most famous and respected individuals and prestigious soccer organizations in the game (see testimonials). Both are former players with Gary training at Chelsea FC and Barcelona and played Queensland State team in Australia (story) while Carine played for Liverpool FC. Gary is former assistant to the legendary technical skills coach Wiel Coerver (read story), technically trained players at Liverpool FC Academy and was lead technical demonstrator for renowned technical coach Hubert Vogelsinger (read story). Gary holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool's Football Industries Program ; Carine holds a BA from Stanford University and MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management
Since 2003 their contribution to the community has been extensive providing $1.5m dollars in financial aid to in need players and families, providing equipment, support for travel, facility re-development/maintenance, after school academic programs and provide college consulting services and advice. Strategic national advisor for Right to Play (read story) and fundraised for multiple global soccer charities
They are regular clinicians and thought leaders on professional player and coach development including mentoring coaches and leading experts in the game throughout the world. They are regular guest speakers and presenters at various MBA and sports entertainment forums and regularly present and co-curate symposiums at leading Hungarian club Puskas Academy (story #1 2022) (story #2 2024). Gary regularly hosts and presents webinars (see list of webinars) on the creative process of youth player technical development and ball body mastery.
Gary and Carine co-founded and currently operate consulting firm Soccerbook Consulting which creates bespoke projects and provides strategic guidance for individual, clubs, leagues and other organizations. created, coached and managed numerous global tours (see link) and provided player training opportunities throughout the world (see link). They have sponsored major youth tournaments (see link), employed many college coaches for their own ID camps.
They also founded and currently operate training and tour companies Dynamic Soccer and Eclipse Academy where they currently train, coach and mentor aspiring and current US college players, (see link) national youth team and professional players (see testimonials) and regularly prepare players to play internationally at professional clubs (see link) and founded Northern California club PSV Union FC (DA/ECNL) as TD/DOC/GM/President which they have operated since 2003

We scout, track & recommend players for all levels of youth club, college & professional game. Our extensive player evaluation & self evaluation features assists us identifying players strengths & weaknesses & align on areas of improvement. We provide independent training for US/ domestic players regardless of club affiliation. Overseas players don't require approval or international clearance to train
The development of facilities provide sustainable revenue sources for our coaching programs. We have identified several potential facility locations in the Triangle area that we are currently exploring. We aim to construct small sided soccer 'courts' which provide a cornerstone for our training & skills testing venue

UNC & Anson Dorrance has been closely associated with Gary & Carine Ireland for over 25 years. Gary trained UNC legend Lorrie Fair & Carine trained UNC player Annie Kingman. They took UNC on tour to Australia, New Zealand on its 2007 NCAA championship post season. Current UNC GM & GK coach Chris Ducar was a former teammate of Gary's & started his coaching career with Gary in California before joining UNC as GK coach & head of recruiting
